Apple, Date & Maple Porridge

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats (uncooked) *
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ cup milk of your choice (+ extra to finish)
  • ½ -1 apple, grated
  • 3 walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 3 dates, chopped
  • 1 tsp Maple Syrup

Method

  • Combine oats, water, milk, apple, dates, walnuts (& protein if using) in a large bowl (to avoid any overflowing mishaps!);
  • Cook on high in the microwave for 5-6mins until it is thick and creamy.
  • Serve porridge in a bowl with a little extra cold milk if needed. Top with maple syrup if you are using.

To cook on stovetop, combine oats, water, milk, apricot & coconut in a saucepan and simmer on low-medium heat for 5-10mins – stirring continuously to avoid any overflow or sticking!

 

* For Gluten Free, use gluten free oats or quinoa flakes.
